In 2024, we are signing another contract with the Ministry of Climate for the support, maintenance, and development of the Wykaz system.
What is “Wykaz”
As stated on the Ministry’s website, the publicly accessible data register maintained by the General Directorate for Environmental Protection and regional environmental protection directorates is a comprehensive database. It includes documents collected in departments and divisions, such as administrative decisions related to environmental matters and protection, along with applications for their issuance. These documents include, but are not limited to: emission permits, decisions related to waste generation and management, applications for permits and authorizations for activities subject to bans or restrictions concerning protected species, permits for running botanical gardens, zoos, or wildlife rehabilitation centers, permits for carrying out prohibited activities concerning non-native plant, animal, or fungal species that, if released into the natural environment, may threaten native species or habitats, resolutions regarding appeals against decisions by regional environmental protection directors requiring environmental impact assessments for projects within Natura 2000 areas, environmental declarations under the July 15, 2011 Act on the National Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS), decisions denying access to environmental information, environmental impact forecasts and reports, environmental reviews, and specific opinions and expert analyses.
What we do
Our daily work primarily focuses on ensuring the stability of the system, its reliability, and implementing improvements to enhance the user experience on the platform.
In 2018, we upgraded key components of the application, including the RedHat system, Oracle database, and Java.
The main challenge in developing this application lies in the complexity of the entire system, as well as the size of the database, which contains approximately 30 million records.
System uses Java 6, jboss, Oracle DB, JSF, Ant, RedHat.
