Today, we are starting another project for the Polish Society for the Protection of Birds (OTOP).
On behalf of the Chief Inspectorate of Environmental Protection, OTOP has commissioned us to carry out a new, extensive project as part of the bird monitoring initiative, focusing on Natura 2000 special protection areas for the years 2023-2025.
We have been entrusted with providing technical support and implementing modifications to the IT system available at monitoringptakow.gios.gov.pl, including the database, Workflow module, and Map Portal.
Support and development
- We will be developing information about the programs conducted by the Chief Inspectorate of Environmental Protection (GIOŚ), generating forms for observers, and publishing the results of analyses.
- We will introduce modifications to improve the functionality and accessibility of the web system.
- The website will be optimized for Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome, and it will comply with current legal requirements for public administration IT systems.
The continuity service for PBD MPP, WFMA, PM GIS, and the monitoringptakow.gios.gov.pl website includes operational tasks that ensure their uninterrupted, reliable, and secure operation. These tasks are carried out by the Contractor based on processes and functions aligned with the ITIL framework, covering all components and infrastructure environments of the system. The service is billed based on deviations from the specified availability level outlined below.
Database, Workflow module, map portal
- We will handle the update, maintenance, redesign, and expansion of the database to improve the performance of the Bird Database for Bird Monitoring in Poland.
- We will maintain and modify the Workflow module for collecting data from fieldwork and supporting the observation network, as well as the GIS map portal for monitoring programs.
- The redesign and expansion of the map portal will include, among other things, updating the graphical interface, implementing cascading filters, exporting charts, and creating additional layers accessible upon login.
INSPIRE directive
All changes to the IT components of MPP must be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the INSPIRE directive and its implementing regulations, as well as in line with the solutions developed by the Contracting Authority for the State Environmental Monitoring system. Additionally, during the execution of the contract, the Contractor will ensure ongoing substantive and technical collaboration with the Contracting Authority to meet the INSPIRE requirements related to the subject of the contract.
Due to the broad scope of the contract, we are assigning a larger team for its execution, consisting of:
- Project Manager,
- Team Leader,
- Several backend and frontend developers,
- Analyst,
- Database Specialist.
