System Maintenance for the General Inspectorate of Road Transport

In August, we’re excited to announce the commencement of a new collaboration. This time, it will involve the maintenance and development of the Electronic Permit Control (EKZ) system.

About the system

The Electronic Permit Control (EKZ) system is designed to provide real-time access to information regarding the monitoring of permits issued by the minister responsible for transport (referred to as permits). It offers up-to-date information on the usage levels of permits allocated to countries (parties to international agreements). The EKZ system supports the process of monitoring foreign carriers engaged in international road transport within Poland based on these permits. Additionally, it provides access to a knowledge base on international road transport.

System Specification

The EKZ System operates in two environments provided by the Client: production and testing. Both environments are fully virtualized, using VMware vSphere 6.5 Standard as the virtualization platform.

The EKZ application runs in a Java environment and utilizes an SQL Server Express database server.

The Client requires the Contractor to ensure proper configuration, parameterization, and maintenance of the EKZ System, which includes guaranteeing the system’s operational functionality.

Data Volume in the EKZ System (as of December 31, 2021):

  • Annual Processed Permits: Approximately 500,000
  • Total Records Stored: Approximately 10,000,000

The EKZ System provides, among other features:

  • Current information on the status of the controlled permit,
  • Up-to-date information on the utilization level of the permit quota allocated to foreign operators,
  • Capability to generate reports on conducted permit inspections,
  • Current information on the expiration dates of permits,
  • Current information on the amount of each permit quota,
  • Current information on conducted inspections (location, date, and type of inspecting entity).

What we do

Under the agreement, we provide advisory and consulting services regarding the operation of the application and the entire EKZ environment. From 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, we handle service requests and address errors and issues with the aim of ensuring the continuous operation of the EKZ system. At the request of GITD, we may also receive development tasks for the system.

Our contract runs until the end of 2022.
